We are learning to become astronomers! Children have been exploring all about space and our Solar System. Year 5 have been investigating the solar system by making a model of the planets and the sun using everyday items. We had to ensure that the items were spherical, and then we had to convert the distance between planets to a relative size that we could recreate on the playground. Children then took their positions and turned clockwise and anti-clockwise, making 360 degree turns to replicate how planets moved.
